Flag making since 1905

The company was founded in 1905 by Georg W. Dahlström. It was at the time of the union dissolution with Norway and the start was favorable in that respect. All Union flags that were previously waving in the Swedish countryside became in one day unusable and new flags without a Union mark were needed. In other words, it was "good tailwind" right from the start and the company soon took a prominent place among Sweden's flag factories. 

At Georg W. Dahlström's demise in 1952, the company was taken over by Sten L. Dahlström who converted it into a limited liability company in 1957. Sten L. Dahlström successfully ran the company until 1994, when he handed over the company to his sons Ingvald A. Dahlström and Per GV Dahlstrom. Ingrid Dahlström, who is married to Sten and mother of Ingvald and Per, also works in the company. Together, the family has an industry career of over 120 years

In the autumn of 1995, a shop was started in connection with the factory, where besides flags there is also a wide range of maritime gift items. Today, the Flagship is one of Sweden's largest stores, focusing on the Martima. If you are more interested in flags then you will find this Flaggfabriken National AB.
